Practical travel guide
Menorca, Maó and Ciutadella: give a full address
Menorca is the island, while Maó, also known as Mahón, and Ciutadella are different towns. For a taxi request, provide the municipality and full accommodation address rather than leaving only Menorca as the destination. The airport uses the code MAH, and its name does not identify the area where you will stay. If several people share the transfer, check that all building and entrance details refer to the same place. Specify a cove or resort using the agreed road point before the journey begins.
Arriving at Maó bus station
The airport’s ground connection with Maó runs by road and reaches the capital’s bus station. This is not a railway station. If combining bus and taxi, retain the service details and confirm where the first stage actually ends. A stop on your ticket may require a different outdoor meeting point for the car. Gather the group with its luggage after checking the address, and do not substitute Maó port for that arrival solely because both are located in the same town on the island.
The old port, Son Blanc and the final section
In Ciutadella, the old port within the historic centre and the outer Son Blanc harbour structure are separate locations. Son Blanc has commercial uses, so ferry travel requires the terminal confirmed by your operator rather than a general reference to the harbour promenade. Provide the vessel and arrival point before arranging pickup. For onward travel to a beach or coastal accommodation, check road access and any walking section. Arrange the sea ticket and any necessary luggage assistance separately rather than assuming they form part of the taxi request.
Prepare your pickup
Enter the street, building number and accommodation name when it helps identify the entrance. If arriving by bus, ship or plane, prepare the journey reference and keep your phone reachable. Check the summary before sending your request and then follow the confirmation instructions. Sending a request is not yet confirmation of a driver, and a general address does not replace an agreed meeting point.
Luggage, children and individual requirements
Count passengers, suitcases and bulky items separately. A group carrying several bags may need a different vehicle from two people with hand luggage. Mention children, pushchairs or accessibility requirements in advance. Do not assume that a child seat or suitable vehicle is available: wait for the necessary features to be confirmed before relying on the transfer.
Journey price and travel time
The journey price depends on the applicable taxi rules, route and any supplements. Do not read a journey-time estimate as a guaranteed price, or confuse the fare with the platform service. Pay the fare directly to the driver. Leave a margin before a flight, bus departure or event: road traffic, luggage and access arrangements can all affect the overall time.
Taxi questions
How do I book a taxi on Menorca?
Complete the form with full pickup and destination addresses, time, passengers and a reachable phone number. On Menorca, use the street and building number rather than just a neighbourhood. Check the summary and follow the confirmation you receive.
Which transport arrival point should I specify?
For a bus arrival in Maó, specify the actual station or stop for your service. It is not a railway station. For sea arrivals, confirm Maó or Ciutadella and your operator’s terminal; the old port and Son Blanc are different locations.
How do I arrange an airport taxi?
For Menorca, check the correct airport: Menorca Airport (MAH). Prepare the flight, terminal and luggage details. Allow for leaving arrivals or checking in, and avoid confusing different airports when entering your destination.
Can the taxi stop outside my accommodation?
That depends on road access and street restrictions. Provide the full address and ask your accommodation which entrance to use. If the entrance is pedestrian-only, agree on a permitted meeting point and separately arrange any walking or luggage assistance you need between that point and the accommodation.
Can I travel with luggage or children?
Mention passenger numbers, luggage size and quantity, and any children’s requirements. Child seats, extra space or accessibility need specific confirmation; do not assume they are automatically included.
How much does a taxi on Menorca cost?
There is no single fare for every journey on Menorca. Taxi fare rules apply, including any conditions for predetermined routes where relevant. Confirm the ride conditions with the driver and request a receipt.
Does sending a request immediately guarantee a driver?
No. Sending the form starts a request. Availability and pickup still need confirmation. Before going to a meeting point, check the instructions received and your journey details.
